The Fight Girls had a great weekend in Las Vegas! All three girls, trained hard, fought hard and put on a great show! Wins went to both Rebecca Mullock and Shelly Strachan. After dominating in the third round, Robyn Nicholson came 2nd place in her bout.
Fabulous job girls! Also, kudos to Kru Keli for her great job on corner coaching the girls!

He’s Back! Kru Shawn K. Carpenter, owner and
head instructor of Warrior's Realm Muay Thai &
MMA Academy has just completed another leg of learning
on his never-ending quest to offer the best Muay Thai
and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) instruction possible.
Carpenter spent the past week in Las Angeles training
with MMA legend Bas Rutten, the man considered “the
best martial artists in the world,” by Black
Belt magazine.
|
“It is very exciting to train with
one of the very best MMA instructors in the world,” states
Carpenter, “it is a great honour and privilege to now
be authorized to teach his system.”
“I’ve always been a fan of Bas,” he relates,
“and it felt like the right and natural direction for
me and my school.” Carpenter is now certified and licensed
as a Bas Rutten MMA system trainer, with exclusive rights
to Vancouver Island. Carpenter is anticipating returning to
LA in six months time to take his first instructor level testing,
before continuing on to the second level course. What does
this mean for students of Warrior's Realm Muay Thai &
MMA Academy? Expansion. It means an expanded MMA program with
more classes, a very clear and methodological progressive
grading system, the backing of Bas Rutten, access to exclusive
seminars/seminar leaders, up-to-date info, techniques and
training methods, equipment and apparel, and much more!

The tremendous power, ferocity, and beauty that is
Muay was captured and unleashed during the battle
n Bellingham II. In an incredible night of fights
that show cased four Warrior’s Realm fighters.
First up was Corbin Carpenter, at only 8 years old,
who put on a fantastic display of Muay Thai technique
and heart in an action packed exhibition match that
only went 1 round.
|
|
Next up was Scott Judson, with a well rounded arsenal
that included viscous knee strikes & hard hitting
kicks. It was no surprise to see Scott’s hand
raised in victory at the end of the bout.
|
|
Next up was fifteen year old Sean Parente with non-stop
action right to the final bell, making it a close
match in the end the judges awarded the fight to Sean’s
opponent.
|
|
Finally, Tyler “knuckles” Klassen in
the main event of the night; a fight that was worth
waiting for! The only bout of the night to feature
full Muay Thai rules (including elbows) and no protective
equipment (no headgear, elbow pads or shin guards),
this explosive match up went the entire five rounds.
No stranger to the ring, “knuckles” dominated
his opponent using all weapons – punches, knees,
elbows and kicks. In the third round the referee even
stopped the fight due to a huge gash in Klassen’s
opponents forehead.
|
After deliberating, officials decided to allow the fight to
continue. Tyler continued his barrage, showing true Muay Thai
heart, Sam (Klassen’s opponent) fought the final round
using everything he had. In a very controversial ending, the
judges awarded the fight to Sam – at the announcement
Sam shook his head in disbelief. In a show of honour that is
at the heart of Muay Thai, Sam hung his gold medal around Klassen’s
neck, signaling that the win had truly belonged to Tyler.
