Finally, Tyler “knuckles” Klassen in the main event of the night; a fight that was worth waiting for! The only bout of the night to feature full Muay Thai rules (including elbows) and no protective equipment (no headgear, elbow pads or shin guards), this explosive match up went the entire five rounds. No stranger to the ring, “knuckles” dominated his opponent using all weapons – punches, knees, elbows and kicks. In the third round the referee even stopped the fight due to a huge gash in Klassen’s opponents forehead.

After deliberating, officials decided to allow the fight to continue. Tyler continued his barrage, showing true Muay Thai heart, Sam (Klassen’s opponent) fought the final round using everything he had. In a very controversial ending, the judges awarded the fight to Sam – at the announcement Sam shook his head in disbelief. In a show of honour that is at the heart of Muay Thai, Sam hung his gold medal around Klassen’s neck, signaling that the win had truly belonged to Tyler.
